“Golden Eyes” is a 2006 music video I produced in my bedroom from a song originally meant to be the fifth song on the ‘Songs For Horses’ EP. I remastered it myself in 2026 from a stem split and played the B3 part. My lifelong friend Dave Morgan plays Dobro on it, may he rest in peace — [BTW no AI existed back then]

LIVE LIKE LOVE
A long time ago I was walking on the beach on vacation in Jamaica when I came across a piece of drift wood with the words “Live Like Love” cut into it so I wrote this song.
.
It was around 1985 working as an on demand air-taxi pilot. A small extra room at home served as a rudimentary recording studio. I recorded ,played and sang everything myself using an 8 track 1/4" Tascam tape deck, a small mixing board, Roland drum machine, some kind of reverb unit, a $100 EV 457 dynamic vocal mic, a white Fender Showman Tremolo head (weird it didn’t have reverb) direct to the board, a Guild D-35 acoustic (double tracked) , a Fender Stratocaster, a $100 bass guitar and a Yamaha DX-7 synth. I am particularly proud of singing all the parts (that guy doesn’t sing like that anymore). It was my homage to Randy Miesner and the Eagles. It was a lot of work . Re-mastered by me in my little Nashville Pro Tools studio. I left in a little tape hiss at the end.
How Can I Get You Out of My Heart
In the late 70s I was working as a flight instructor and air taxi pilot In Los Angeles. One of my flying students turned out to be one of the most esteemed audio engineers in the world at the time, Juergen Koppers. He listened to the demo tapes I had brought from Philadelphia including “Babe Come Home” and liked them well enough to take me into Rusk Sound Studios to record a demo session. I had a couple songs published in Los Angeles, and we picked this one to record. I co-wrote it with Randy McCollough an Austin songwriter who was living in LA at the time. Juergen was on top of the music world having completed projects with Donna Summers and the likes of Barbara Streisand for instance. He was also best friends with Harold Faltermeyer the author of the Top Gun movie theme who ended up playing organ on my demo session. Juergen had the pick of all the A-list session players in LA and he was able to get Nicky Hopkins on piano, Billy Champlin on backing vocals/tambourine, and Mike Baird on drums. Sorry to say I do not have the names of the electric guitar and bass player having written them down and sadly lost all that info including all my master tapes in The Valley Fire of 2015. That was one of the reasons I moved to Texas in January 2021 then on to Tennessee in the Spring. I am singing lead and harmony vocals plus playing the not so obvious acoustic guitar. I thought this demo was my ticket to ride into the music industry, but nothing ever happened with it. I had a young family at the time and was not willing to burn my bridges to pursue music full time and I was actually happy with my flying job. It's been a long, strange trip as the Grateful Dead would say. I'll try to document more of it in the future in the hopes of not boring people too much. I also spent a lot of time re-mastering this demo in my little Pro Tools home studio. Please let me know if you like it or hear anything that would improve ‘the master’. Thanks to anyone giving up 4 minutes of their life to listen. Nick Hopkins was rocking out and its worth hearing him at the end fade-out especially.
Hello Younger Generation
1974 recorded live at a High School concert onto 1/4″ tape machine with a newbie/incompetent or malicious sound man that ruined the recording as you will hear but it is what it is. Re-mastered in Nashville by me in 2024.
A band I was in at the time that never got anywhere because we were all talented but were young and dumb asses …but the message of the song is important especially now when WW3 is closer than ever.
Babe Come Home
1974 demo recording at famous Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia. All local musicians I played with .
Everyman Should Spend a Night in Jail
Recorded in a small ADAT studio 1998.
Remastered by me in Nashville 2024.
Mountain (Clyde's Lament)
This was with a band called Shepherd and is the oldest “real” recording I ever did. Hired a guy that had a portable ¼” tape recorder rack rig that we setup in a living room in 1969 when I was 20 years old. Remastered in Nashville in 2024 from very poor condition original recording.
This Feeling I Have (Your Love Is Haunting Me)
Recorded in a small ADAT studio 1998.
Remastered by me in Nashville 2024.
Mostly friends playing with me.
